“Be the change you want to see in the world”

I read this article.

Casio Japan: In 1985, Casio Japan invented the graphing calculator, called the Casio FX-7000.   Because of his invention, he has given students the ability to develop the connection between graphs and their formulas.  Also, by using all the different tools on Japan’s machine, the process of solving many mathematical problems has become simlipified.

Chester Carlson: In 1959, Chester Carlson invented the first copy machine.  This is one invention that teachers still fight over to this day.  Carlson has given teachers a tool that allows them to use information, such as a worksheet from an old book that is no longer made or a homework creation of their own.  His creation has helped illiminate the worry of having to hand write each page or waste expensive ink from a personal printer just so each student has their own copy of that page.  Plus, it has reduced the amount of time it takes to produce multiple copies of something considerably.

Robert Gaskins: Between 1987 and 1993, Robert Gaskins lead his team of Microsoft employees to the invention of PowerPoint.  Gaskins’ PowerPoint has simplified the lives of many teachers by eliminating the frustration of using multiple papers or transparencies during a presentation.  Now, teachers can get all the information they want to use at the click of a button.  They can also print off handouts of the PowerPoint without having to type up an entirely new paper.
